Assignment-18A
Today I am going to be showing and describing my customer avatar. As I have mentioned in my earlier posts my customers range from average college students to professors and other employees at UF.
I am going to be describing who I think most of my customer population is, which is college students. For the service that I am trying to provide, I think the customer that is going to be most excited about it are the freshman and sophomore college students. These students live off campus and they find it very difficult to get to and from school everyday. These are the students that have brought cars with them to college but are not really able to drive them to campus. These students will range between the ages of 18-20. This might not seem like a wide range of individuals, however, there are always new students coming in to UF, and these students will continue to have problems like this.
My average customer is a 18-20 year old male or female. These individuals will drive all different kind of cars. They are very active individuals who like to engage in activities on campus and they do have after school jobs. I think it is important to know that my customers are active individuals because the main reason they need a change in parking is because they have too much stuff going on in the day that they cannot afford to waste time taking the bus to and from school everyday. My customer is like any other college student, however, they cannot afford to buy a scooter, like many other students on the campus at UF. This is also very important to know because many students are able to afford scooters and they do not face the same parking problem at UF, that others might face.

I find myself to be very similar to my customer avatar and I do not think this is a coincidence. I thought of this problem for myself and I thought of a solution for myself. After going into more research I realized that many other individuals were just like me and they were having the same problems as me, when it came to getting to and from campus. I am a 20 year old college students, I cannot afford to buy a scooter and I live off campus. This is a very bug hassle trying to get to and from campus. Many students at UF, and I am sure at many other Universities experience the same problem that I do everyday.
I have decided not to use the avatar generator for this assignment because I think my customers range from all different kinds of individuals at UF.

Hey Taylor, I think you did a great job in determining who your customer avatar is. I feel like this assignment came naturally to you, as you most likely know many people that have this problem. I thought one of your best points was the one about activity and time. You mentioned how your typical customer is active, so they don't have the time to waste taking the bus. This will allow you to narrow you target market so that you are only marketing towards active individuals. Additionally, your reflection on how similar you are to your customer avatar is interesting and I can relate to what you observed. You initially thought of this service as a solution to one of your problems, so it is not surprising that you are similar to your typical customer. I found similarities between myself and my customer that can be explained through this same scenario. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteHey Taylor!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your post because you made sure to include every type of demographic here at UF that relates to your chosen opportunity! Also, the fact that you also fall into your own market really demonstrates how well you understand your customer's needs. I also like how you tackled the alternative in this situation: scooters. It's so true that although scooters lessen the parking hassles on campus, they are an additional expense that not many students can afford, especially those who already own cars.
Great post!
